Duties -

Work as part of the Finance team to provide support services within the Prince Edward Island Field Unit including:

• Processing administrative support and actions to the Finance and Human Resource team

• Providing client services in person and on the phone in both official languages

• Preparing correspondence and managing generic email accounts

• Providing information and advice to clients including selling passes

• Maintaining information systems and other records

• Provide operational support to the PEI Field Unit when required

• Secondary support to revenue management

Parks Canada is a federal government agency responsible for the protection and presentation of Canada’s outstanding natural and cultural resources through a system of national parks, national marine conservation areas and national historic sites in all regions of Canada.


PEI National Park of Canada is home to sand dunes, barrier islands and sandspits, beaches, sandstone cliffs, wetlands and forests. These diverse habitats provide a home for a variety of plants and animals, including the threatened Gulf of Saint Lawrence Aster and the endangered Piping Plover. The National Park also features unique cultural resources, notably Green Gables, part of L. M. Montgomery's Cavendish National Historic Site, and Dalvay-by-the-Sea National Historic Site.

Intent of the process -

The results of this process will be used to fill two (2) indeterminate year round positions.

A list of qualified candidates will be established, and may be used to fill similar positions of various tenures (temporary, indeterminate, full-time, part-time) and work locations

EXPERIENCE -

Experience in providing administrative support services;
Experience in providing service to clients by telephone, in person, and/or in writing;
Experience in using various software programs such as Microsoft Office.

Information on language requirements

KNOWLEDGE -

Knowledge of general office administration practices and procedures;
Knowledge of payment processing, and general cash control procedures.

ABILITIES -

Ability to establish priorities and organize work in order to meet tight deadlines;
Ability to use software programs to produce documents and enter data;
Ability to edit and proofread documents.
