One of my favorite pastimes as the year comes to a close is constructing a vision board. It's a good moment to contemplate and "start over." This year is no exception. This is a wonderful place to start if you want to make a vision board. You can make this your finest year yet with the help of some images and an optimistic attitude.
REFLECT ON YOUR GOALS FOR THE YEAR AS WELL AS IN THE PAST -
I prefer to go over my prior year's vision board before making a new one. What appealed to me about it? What didn't I enjoy? How can I make it more approachable or "my style?" In my case, I forgot to bring my vision board with me to college, so I couldn't view it. This year, I might make my board the background of my laptop or phone, or I might make it portable so that I can bring it from home to college.
Consider whether you were able to complete all, some, or none of the objectives on your vision board. Congratulations if you did! It's okay if you didn't! This new year heralds the start of a new chapter in your life. You will be able to achieve your goals if you take the essential steps and keep a realistic viewpoint.
SET SOME GOALS -
The first step in establishing a vision board for the new year is to set goals. Here are some starting points if you're not sure where to begin.
Make your goals specific and reachable. For example (and this is a personal example), don't say you want to read 100 novels in a year if you can't even get through five. Consider something that, once finished, is both feasible and satisfying.
Using the book as an example, set a goal that corresponds to your timetable. If you are always busy, it may be difficult to find time to read. Consider the alternatives. Perhaps audiobooks to listen to in between classes or at the gym are a suitable fit for you.
Consider your entire day and what you need to change to prioritise sleep if you want to get more sleep. Are you studying excessively and staying up late on your phone?
Consider the mechanics of getting there if you want to increase your grades. What is the total amount of homework you have? What are the requirements for the grade you desire? Can you attend office hours, or must you make an appointment with your professor?
Don't be afraid to think about the logistics. After all, while a vision board might help you remember your goals, it cannot bring them to existence on its own. It is vital to put up the work; you will soon reap the benefits.
Use this board to examine both the path and the end outcome.
BUILDING THE BOARD -
Now that you've set some goals, it's time to have some fun! First, think about where you want to put this board. Whether it's a physical or digital board, make sure you can see it every day.
If you're going to use a real board, make sure you have somewhere to print your photos. Instagram and Google Slides are both free and straightforward tools for designing your board if you wish to work digitally.
Google is my preferred image search engine. It is the best site for finding cute and diverse photographs because of its recent rebirth. Another great and conventional technique is to go through magazines. Whatever your goals are, make sure they are aesthetically appealing to you.
ADD UPDATES AS NECESSARY -
It's okay if a goal does not come true for any reason.
If, on the other hand, you've already achieved your goal, don't stop there! If you've already read five books, set a new goal of reading five more. Or, if you have a new objective, put it on there! The beauty of a vision board is that it is never set in stone. Life happens, and you can influence it as much as you want!
