Abu Dhabi Logistics Firm AD Ports Group Expands Into Kazakhstan

The AD Ports Group of Abu Dhabi signed a Caspian Sea partnership with Kazakhstan on Wednesday.

AD Ports Group will form a joint venture with Kazmortransflot, a subsidiary of KazMunayGas, Kazakhstan's state-owned oil and gas corporation. In the Caspian Sea, the two will supply shipping and offshore services. In a news statement, AD Ports Group expressly emphasised the following services:

As previously stated, the firms inked a shareholder agreement under which AD Ports Group will own 51 percent of the JV and KMTF will possess 49 percent. The new company will provide offshore and shipping services to Caspian Sea petroleum corporations.

The joint venture will offer a wide range of services, including offshore support vessels, integrated offshore logistics, and subsea solutions, and will eventually offer container feedering, ro-ro, and crude oil transportation in the Caspian and Black Seas.

The company will bid on a variety of identified projects worth more than $780 million in maritime contracts.

The comment was made during a meeting between KazMunayGas CEO and Abu Dhabi Ports CEO Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi.
